Family Trip to Kota Kinabalu (07 - 10 Aug 2010)

0
Wow! It's been a month since I went for a trip to KK, Sabah with my family. This is my 3rd time to visit KK. But is 2nd time to get a real visit KK. I still can remember how fun it is for the whole trip. Unfortunately my big bro wasn't able to join us because busy of his works. No choice, but we still carry on since everything has planned. Not only that, my 2nd bro carries on with this plan BUT he was sick on the 1st day. Luckily, on the 2nd day, he becomes so energetic especially we will head to islands. Really worry that the sickness will ruin the holidays. Thanks to coconut juice that he drank on 1st day.

Few views at Sutera Harbour. I like to come over here because of the nice views yet relaxing.

I managed to capture sunset from Sutera Harbour.

2nd day (08.08.10) : Went to Gaya Street to do some local shopping. This street has lots of things to see. This is a place that a MUST to visit at KK. However, it's held on every Sunday. Must go early to avoid human traffic.

This is Buah Talap. I think it can be found at Sabah only. 'Coz I never try this kind of fruit before. The smell is kind of weird but when you eat it, it's quite nice too.

This is so called famous " Durian Isi Merah". I didn't taste 'coz I was in sore throat that time. E's mum bought for us to try. Most funny is that, it's not fresh anymore 'coz there are some worms in this durian and guess what? My mum get to eat the worm's portion. What a lucky for her! However, we all convince her that she doesn't eat that portion to makes her feel better.

Pulau Mamutik! Here we come! That was Pulau Mamutik. Taken while I was still in the speedboat. Quite wavy on that day. But we still able to take it. My parent able to take this kind of speedboat.

Beach views at Pulau Mamutik.

Here we reach at 2nd island - Pulau Manukan.

These are "Cycle Doo". I'm not sure whether I'm right with the name. All I know is that, we can cycle down to sea. Just like snorkeling. When the time we reach there, they stop rent 'coz out of their business time. It's quite costly, around RM180 per hour (if not mistaken). But worth to try anyway.

3rd day (09.08.10) : Trip to Kundasang & Poring Hot Spring.

Poring Hot Spring. A tourist's location. E told me that last few years, when he was still at high school, this place is a good place to view stars because it's without shelter. I can imagine it's a romantic place especially watching star while enjoying night at hot spring.

Besides of hot spring, there are still many places that we can visit. I would say that must visit Canopy Walkway. This time, I can't get to visit it because of time being. Last year, I went there. It's quite fun although kind of scary to walk through the bridge especially hanging from tree to tree.
Restaurant at Poring Hot Spring. Nice ambience.

Resorts at Poring Hot Spring.

Have you seen the smallest roundabout? Moreover, it used paint to make it as a roundabout. Be honest, this is my first time to see such cute round-about. It's located at Ranau.

Ok. Now we are at our rented chalet at Kundasang. The weather is cold. Maybe around 15 degrees. Of course, this kind of weather is suitable for steamboat. Therefore, we bought some instant food for our simple supper steamboat. Although, it is simple but it taste good!

Morning, morning. Day 4 for now, at Kundasang. Weather, still cold. I took some pictures of flowers at the resort. The flowers are quite pretty. I think maybe because of nice weather.

Farm at backyard of the resort.

Surprise to see this? Yeap, from Pine Tree that used for X'mas tree decoration. Lots of Pine tree nearby the resort.
Look familiar? It's Mt. KK. We see it clearly just in front of rented chalet. Nice view, right? Took it at early morning.

This is the place that we rented. It's simple but nice. Really nice! Can imagine how near is Mt. KK when we stay in this chalet?

Most enjoyable moment is having breakfast at such a cold weather. A glass of hot milo with some cakes are good enough for us.
Double Rainbow!

Desa Farm aka Cow Farm (Really looks like at NZ).

Few pictures from Desa Farm. Does it looks like NZ?

Don't you think "she" looks different with local cows? "She" looks pretty, right?

2 horses at Desa Farm. Ok, the we all said that The White Horse likes my bro. Coz she will looks at my bro whenever my bro wants to take her picture. A very spontaneous horse to camera.

Climbathon Chart - fastest to reach Mt. KK. Competition in every year.

Timpohon was the last place we visit during this trip. Timpohon is where climbers will start their journey to Mt. KK. My 2nd bro depart from here during his climb on last Apr 10. At here, lots of squirrels. Get to feed them. They act fast. Just grab food and straight run.

Overall, this trip is kind of fun. Coz I get to visit lots of place that I'm not able to visit during last year. I think most fun is stay at Kundasang. 1st, I get to see a nice Mt. KK. Many people tempted to climb it but not me. Maybe I know that I'm not good in stamina. Therefore, I've no intention to climb it.

Ocean Financial Centre

Last few weeks, my project (so-called as my project because I'm in this site), just launched the Topping-Out Ceremony. Of course I'm not being invited to attend this grand ceremony because mostly is from client's side and some architects and also some govt people which I don't really know (please don't blame me because I'm not from S'pore). What a surprise that I got to know that my colleague bought a 1st Day Cover of this project. I was shocked too to find out that SingPost also produce this cover.

Briefly know a bit of this project which was built-up about 146 years ago. Demolish and new building for few times. This OFC will be the 4th time. This piece of land really expensive for nowadays 'coz located at center of town. Some people named this Raffles Place as "Central of HK". Although I work here, but I don't feel anything. Maybe because used to this environment already. Furthermore, because I work at site, I don't really dress well like those people works at office. Below picture is for reference.

An evening @ Resort World Sentosa on 23rd July 2010

0
Rakesh, Rach & I bought tickets to Sentosa on 17th July 2010. But we are unable get to enter Images of Singapore because of late. Therefore, I asked E to go with me on 23rd July 2010. Yet, late again. And we are unable to go too. Since then, we head to Resort World Sentosa a.k.a RWS to take a short walk & visit the place since I've never really get to visit the place. So, E be my tour guide on that evening. Guide me about RWS & intro some of the things that public might not know too. When I step into RWS, it's feels like at Genting. I shall briefly intro about RWS at here.

Our dinner @ Chilli's, RWS. We choosed Rib & Chicken Combo. It's a big portion, suitable for 2 persons. We can't even finish it coz it's too big. Of course, there are many types of restaurant can choose.

Universal's Globe & Hershey's Chocolate World. It's so interesting when walk into Hershey's Choc World. Lots of chocolates especially famous Hershey Kissess. Furthermore, they also offer pictures taken either in syrup bottle or chocolate bar.

Intro Hall of Walk, Lake of Dreams & Casino.

Chihuly & Michael Graves Gallery. Both also architect. Hotel Michael is named after Michael Graves. While, Chihuly is an architect with an eye only.

Hotels at RWS : Festive Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Crockfords Hotel & Hotel Michael. However, Hotel Michael is not in the picture. The most interesting is that Adam & Eve. I'm still doubting Adam & Eve is fat or slim?

Basement view. Kind looks like at Genting Highland. Of course, big difference in weather!

Half Day Tour @ Sentosa (17th July 2010)

0
17th July 2010 - My primary schoolmate came to SG to have a short holiday. Although I've been here for more than 2 years, but yet I don't know interesting place to go at SG except bringing him to RWS or Sentosa. Luckily, he agreed to go Sentosa. This tour was great & I had a lot of fun.

First game - Segway Ride.

Left : Skyride ; Right : Luge
We bought tickets to skyride only.

Rakesh, Rach & me on a Skyride. Fearful for me to take this photo because, I'm scare of height & scare my camera will drop.

Some of the views while riding Skyride. The sunset was taken when we took 2nd time of Skyride.

Our 3rd station is to Underwater World. It's totally different from KL. This one has more types of fish and shows too.

Dolphin Show at Underwater World. Luckily, we make it to see this show. Unluckily, we get a sunny seats. The dolphins are clever but too bad, it's a short show.

2 shots that I like most. Left is Dragon fish, one of a kind of seahorse. While right is jellyfish. I'm not sure what type it is. But is damn nice especially with such background.

Although this pic is not that clear but I like it. Coz it has a special effect.

Rakesh & me.

Rach & me. Both name also started with R. This pic taken by Rakesh. Rach complained that no one can hold her camera in proper way.

Me with the Giant spider crab!

Us on the Tiger Sky Tower. Suit for couple because the ambience is quite romantic especially at late evening.

Some of the great views that took from Tiger Sky Tower.

Our tickets of Skyride & unlimited Skyride stamp.

Last but not least, our photo in front of Vivo City before everyone leaves. I feel we are more closer especially with Rakesh 'coz such a long time that never see him since he was 12 years old. Luckily, we still manage to keep our friendship until now. It's more than 10 years friendship. We shall cherish & appreciate it.

Lunch @ Astons Specialities, The Cathay.

0
One week past. But, now only free to update my blog. From the title, what so special about on 26th June 2010, right? Actually, there is nothing special. I just went out for lunch at Aston withh E & Rach.

This is where we had lunch, Astons Specialities. Ok, intro a bit about this restaurant first. This place is famous with cheap western food and it's located at The Cathay, Dhoby Ghaut. Please don't misunderstand that cheap doesn't mean no good. It's totally opposite! The food is quite nice. Ambience wise, of course can't compare with high class restaurant. But it's suitable for youngsters whereby, it's true that lots of youngsters Q for it.

Rach & I choosed same drink which is IBC Rootbeer. The taste is good also. Not so sweet. Not sure whether other place has it or not.

E's Cream mushroom soup with garlic bread (Left) & my choice of Hickory BBQ Chicken with side dishes, veggie & baked beans (right).

Left - Rach's choice : Prime Sirloin Steak with side dishes of garden salad & onion ring. It's just S$11.90.
Right - E's choice : Chicken spaghetti comes with cream mushroon soup (above) for S$6.50.

After lunch we went for a movie, Knight & Day. This movie is an action comedy. For me & Rach, it's not as what we expected. She expect it's not that kind of good movie but ends up a nice movie. While me, I expect much better than it. Somehow, I will give 3.5 out of 5. Yet, is worth to watch.

75 years for The Cathay. Congratulations!!!!
