Batam's Trip (16-17 Oct 2010)

0
Third week of October 2010 (16th - 17th Oct 2010), planned a bankrupt trip to Batam, Indonesia with Rach & Shir. Reason why called as "bankrupt trip" is because 3 of us are broke. We all travelled with a tight budget but everything is well planned.

Phua Chu Kang (PCK), a Singapore well-known comedy always like to says "best contractor in SG & Batam". So, now I'm visiting Batam. But too bad that I didn't get to take pictures of city area. I was surprise to see Batam that it is like a Johor Bahru. And one more thing, the town is better & more advance than Tanjung Pinang, Bintan.

We stay a night at Turi Beach which is quite nice place & suitable for relax. However, it doesn't has lots of activities beside water activities. At night, it doesn't has any activity beside a lounge that offers snooker & enjoy watching football's game.

Our ferry ticket to Batam from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal

This is our resort, Turi Beach. Taken this pic at night when the time we back from town.

Lobby at Turi Beach. The first impression comes from hotel lobby. It looks grand makes us feel relieve to choosed this nice resort.

A champagne as welcome drinks from Turi Beach.
Actually is a ginger drink.

Our chalet at the resort. Kind of "kampung" feel but nice. It is located at hill and quite steep too. Maybe we lack of exercise, therefore we felt kind of suffer to walk this steep hill.

The view in the room. 2 queen size beds. I like the toilet because it's very clean.

Swimming pool nearby Riani Wing (our chalet)

Swimming pool at Tirta Wing, another type of rooms at Turi Beach

Lounge & restaurant at Turi Beach. Taken at the next morning.

Our dinner taken at this Indonesian Style Seafood Restaurant. It's run by a Chinese Indonesian.

Sea view from Turi Beach

Before we left, we went for a massage at this Isabella Massage. Given me a very nice massage & scrubs.

I like this picture. Editted by Shir. Nice!!!

Steven & Moon's ROM on 101010

0
Wah! So long time never update my blog. All because of works! Don't really have a spare time to update. As I mentioned before in my previous blog, October is my busy month. Attend Jimui's ROM & wedding dinner. One by one to update it. First, let's see about my Jimui's ROM.

Steven & Moon's ROM is on 10th Oct 2010. Shorten it to be 101010. What a nice figures! For chinese, it is 十全十įžŽ which is means everything goes well. Hopefully I elaborate it correctly. Many of us make it to attend her ROM especially her Jimuis. For me, this is my first time to attend ROM. I'm kind of curious it especially knows nothing about it.

The night before Moon gets official marriage on paper, we went for a drink at Overtime, Sunway Giza. That week, almost everyday I need to work overtime at office, now on Saturday night still need to go "Overtime". :P Ok, I know nothing about Sunway Giza. When the first time I arrive there, I was shock. What a nice place! What a great place to hang out! Definitely is a place for me if I'm still staying and hang out with my jimuis especially when I'm still studying. Somehow, transport is a big problem that time. We take this as our gathering since meeting up few years ago, probably after graduate.

Group photos at Overtime.

10th October 2010. The day has come. It's a big day for Steven & Moon. Me & Eric went to fetch Munz and straight away to Thean Hou Temple to attend the ROM. When we reach there, we were quite surprise to see lots of people are participating this event. Is around 200 couples. 100 couples at noon. That is what Moon told me. Whoa! So great event. We thought the ROM has finish 'coz saw every couple is getting ready for the group shot. But we were wrong. That is just the beginning. Hahaha!! We wait patiently and went for breakfast at Thean Hou Temple's canteen. The weird thing is, temple sells meat. Chicken thigh some more! HL & Ed is late! Join us in midway when E & I having breakfast. Teng & Paul too coz waiting HL.

After breakfast, we walk around and join in the function to see the event. 3 counters, with 200 couples, waiting for their turn to have a BIG signature on a piece of paper. But be honest, I just don't understand why does the management thinks of this poor way. Luckily, we managed to capture some photos while Steven & Moon are waiting for their turn. Apparently, it is not taken by either of us but by a hired professional photographer. Kind of talented and good. Highly recommended!

I managed to post these 2 photos which are tagged in my FB. Aren't it nice? It's worth for what we paid to get nice photos. After the ROM, we thought to go out & take photos but ends up raining. However, we are rushing back 'coz I'm going to take flight back to SG at late evening.

Be honest, I shed some tears after Moon getting marries. It's a happy tears. Happy for her to get marry & at here, wish her blissful marriage. & stay happy always.

My New Gadget

0
Yes!!! I got it! Finally, I got my new gadget, my new iPhone 4. I have been wait for a month. But luckily, I don't need to Q for it. I just need to register it and wait for a month.

Many people says that nowadays, a lot of people holding iPhone. Wherever you go, you will see people holding it either surfing net or watching movie. No doubt, iPhone is a convenient and useful phone. Whatever software/ application, you'll be able search it. It's the matter of money whether you pay for it or install it in free. But of course, free doesn't mean full version. Lots of it are lite version. As a lady using iPhone, there is no need to be so advance. Basic function and application will do.

Let's see what is the difference between 3GS & 4G. As I know is that, 4G able to makes video call (but so far I haven't try it). It also can record some short video, probably depends on the video length and capacity. The most satisfaction for me is that, the camera able to capture picture either from back or front. Capture from front is most suitable for people likes to take picture by own.

Front view. A bit squarish compare to 3GS.

Early Morning Breakfast @ Red Star Dim Sum Restaurant

0
Today I got up very early as per usual to work. It's all because, I have to try dim sum at a restaurant that being recommended by colleague. Actually, I've been wanted to have early breakfast on weekend especially dim sum. It's hardly to find a good dim sum restaurant at SG with a fine price. I can't said it's truly nice but at least OK. >.<

Red Star Restaurant @ Chinatown

Direction to Red Star at Staircase

Views inside the restaurant. It's a traditional dim sum restaurant. Also, the aunties are waitresses. They still maintain pushing dim sum cart.

Appetizer - Preserved Cabbage

These 2 types of are common dim sum that must have at dim sum restaurant.

Fish balls & pork rib. Not recommend to try fish balls.

Yam Puff stuffed with cha siew paste.

Cha Siew Puff

Ingredients in the puff.

Chee Cheong Fun (HK Style)

All time favourite - egg tarts

Chinese Tea - "Kuk Poh"

So far had these few types of dim sum. What do you expect from 2 persons having an early morning breakfast. I think, it's quite a lot. But no doubt, we can't finish all of it especially those shrimps dumpling. Coz, E doesn't like seafood.

After heavy meal of breakfast, we walk around nearby that area. After a walk, we feel better and fully digest.

*** Notes :
1) Cha siew is honey roasted pork. It's a Cantonese word.
2) Chee Cheong Fun is a one kind of white noodle that eat with some sauce. Different country has their own style of Chee Cheong Fun. Even in Malaysia has few types of it.
