Tanjung Pinang, Bintan, Indonesia

I just came back from Tanjung Pinang. This place is a town of Bintan. Last few months, I just went to Bintan too but is to the resort. Because I got listened from some of staffs at the resort saying that, Tanjung Pinang is a nice place. Since I have some spare time in this weekend, so I decided to visit this place with E.

Our ferry's ticket - S$100 for 2 persons for return ferry tickets by Penguin. However, compared to previous ferry that I took last time to Bintan Resort, this one is not as comfortable as last time.

Managed to capture some view when we depart from Singapore. Coincidently, airplane is preparing to landing.

Some of the views when we arrive at jetty of Tg. Pinang.

Amused when I see this plate. In Bahasa Melayu, we called it as Lelaki but in Bahasa Indonesia is Pria. Besides that, we called shop as "kedai" in Bahasa Melayu while Bahasa Indonesia is "toko". Toko also means that shop is bigger than kedai which also, more complete. This is what the tour guide told us.

Our lunch time. Left side is nasi goreng nanas while right side is chicken steak. Is weird that eat chicken steak right? No choice, coz sensitive with seafood which the restaurant serves lots of seafood. These all costs Rp 72,000 which means around S$ 11.00. I think is quite cheap.

Cute propping which is made of tree branches. But the strength is quite good!

We managed to get a ride of public transport at Tg. Pinang which is "Angkotan Kota". The driver is ok and won't asking for high price when we sit on. From Ramayana Mall to Pasar (town area) is around Rp3,000 per person. Quite reasonable too because I saw some he also charged same rate. Aren't this kind of car is cute? Especially the door.

In the Angkotan, we managed to take a pic. We also agree that it's quite syok to take this kind of transport.

Street look from "Pasar (town area)" at Tg. Pinang. Is kind of old street but has a lot of things to see. Quite amazing too.

I captured some shops with "cute" name. I realised is usual and a culture of this place.

Ramayana Mall (left) is so called as the largest shopping mall at Tg. Pinang while Bintan Mall (right) is slightly small shopping mall. But what I feel amazed by Bintan Mall is that, motorcycles & cars parking are inside this mall like what I've captured and not a big space car park like M'sia or S'pore.

This is a place that I highly recommended to go when you are at Tg. Pinang. It's a massage centre which of course, is a legal & tradition massage. I took an 2 hours package which consists of Jaquzzi, Massage & Body Scrubs. It's costs Rp310,000 only which is around S$ 50. The service is not bad too.

The thing I most regret is that I can't visit 2 islands nearby Tg. Pinang. One is Penyengat Island (left) and the one is Senggarang Island (right). Penyengat Island is a muslim place that has a lot of mosque while Senggarang Island is a chinese place which has a lot of temples. But the most I wanted to go is Senggarang Island. Not because I'm a chinese but I really wish to see Banyan tree temple which has tree grown into. Quite impressive when I read it at internet.

Last but not least, I got to buy Polo - T at Tg. Pinang. It's very cheap, just Rp399,000 for 2!! It's about S$62.00! Why is cheap? Because the Polo factory is at Indonesia, therefore, it's cheap. Remember that, must buy Polo-T when you're at Indonesia. Just can't miss it!

That's all for my trip at Tg. Pinang. Definitely I'll be back here for another adventure. The people are nice and friendly. Yet helpful too.
